  • October 1999:
The September 1999 SRRTNet workshop held at Frascati marked a turning point in the creation of this network. Its immediate impact was the creation of these central web pages at the Daresbury Laboratory (UK) within the computational materials group, which act as the backbone of the network. The meeting identified an immediate task of the establishment of contacts within the entire global community of synchrotron-related theoretical and experimental research groups. Funding to facilitate the establishment of the network was being sought within Europe, Japan and the USA.
